Die rote Zora
Lehmann und Wenzel + flunker produktionen
Based on the novel by Kurt Held.
Zora’s reputation precedes her. As the leader of a gang of street children, she is not popular in the small coastal town. Yet it is poverty and hunger that have brought the children together. And when Branko’s mother dies and he is wrongfully imprisoned, Zora takes him into her gang. From now on, they fight not only for survival, but also for justice. They take revenge on those who have wronged them. But when does right turn into wrong? Driven by the fear of loneliness and held together by the desire to be free, they discover that there is a freedom that cannot be bought and that even this does not last forever. And so the puppet theatre duo Lehmann and Wenzel and flunker produktionen turn the corner with squealing wheels and unload what it takes to tell this story: a megaphone, puppets, a few instruments, a whistle, a whole lot of fish, a dead dog, something to shoot, something to throw, lots of apricots, a coffin, a witch (who isn’t really a witch), a bit of red hair and a great desire to form a gang!
